Florida does not let just anyone file an unclaimed property claim for someone else on a contingent fee. The law limits it to a Florida-licensed attorney, a Florida CPA, or a licensed private investigator — and requires that person to register with the Department of Financial Services before filing anything.

Not values statements. Four things you can check while we are working for you.
We tell you what we find, either way
On the first call we say plainly whether the state is holding anything under that name and what it will take to recover it. If your situation is simple enough that you do not need us, we say that too.
We use the state's agreement, unchanged
Florida adopts the recovery agreement form by rule, and a claimant's representative cannot use any other one. The fee is written into it before you sign. There is no second contract and no separate paperwork from us.
Nothing is owed until the state pays
Our fee comes out of the recovery. If the claim is denied or the account turns out not to be yours, you owe us no fee — we absorb our own research, notary coordination, and postage. Separate from that: if your claim needs a record you do not have — a death certificate, a marriage certificate, a certified translation — that record has its own cost, and you can obtain it through us or anywhere else you like.
We ask for documents last, not first
We confirm the account exists and that the ownership trail leads to you before asking you for identification or certificates. Anyone who opens by requesting your Social Security number should give you pause.
How to check that a call or letter is really from us
Unclaimed property attracts impersonators, because the pitch — "the state is holding money for you" — happens to be true. Verify before you send anything to anyone, including us.
Search your own name first
Go to FLTreasureHunt.gov and search. If nothing comes up under your name or a former name, there is nothing for anyone to recover, and whoever contacted you is not describing a real account.

Ask for the registration
Any firm filing a Florida claim for a fee must be registered with the Department of Financial Services. Ask for the name it is registered under and verify it with the Division directly.
Nobody should ask you to pay up front
The state charges nothing to return your property, and we charge nothing unless it is recovered. A request for an advance payment, a wire, or a gift card is a scam, without exception.
What our engagement covers
Signing an unclaimed property recovery agreement with us covers one thing: identifying and recovering the specific account or accounts named in that agreement from the Florida Department of Financial Services. It is limited to that claim.
It does not create a general attorney-client relationship for other matters, and it is not a retainer for probate administration, estate litigation, real property disputes, or tax questions. If your situation needs any of those, we will tell you, and that would be a separate engagement with its own written agreement.
